August 2, 1986 — Cabrillo Beach Music Festival — Los Angeles, Ca

Theses are the last of the concert 35mm negatives found in that old binder, in “those dusty old boxes”. Photos of Belinda Carlisle’s and Missing Persons sets from the 1986 Cabrillo Beach Music Festival. All photos were taken with a Canon A1 camera. I’m publishing these very raw, without blemish correction or photoshopping.

An estimated 75,000 people attended what was billed as the 1st Annual Los Angeles Beach Scene Festival. The festival showcased Los Angeles’ cultural diversity. Proceeds benefited “Save the Books” fund for the Los Angeles Central Library.

The festival was headlined by Belinda Carlisle. This was shortly after the break-up of “The Go Go’s”. Guitarist Andy Taylor of Duran Duran fame played the show with her.
