This Sunday, supporting charities chosen by the players
Believe it or not, there is art in the NFL.
Though present day NFL flaunts innovative new helmets, and shiny jerseys of all colors — embedded with the swoosh insignia, it’s the cleats that have become the most compelling part of the uniform. Furthermore, its the only element that allows the player to get creative and express himself. Over the past three years, the NFL’s biggest names such as; Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller have all teamed up with the renowned artist such as Kickasso, to design their own pre-game and in-game footwear — sometimes sporting two different pairs per game.
This week, in the midst of a WWE meets a circus meets the bad news bears type of season, the NFL is holding one of its most important weekends, My Cause, My Cleats. In this, players are encouraged to customize their cleats and have them marked with a charity or foundation near and dear to their hearts.
Here we take a look at some of the most artistic cleats you will see on Sunday, and the organizations they showcase:
Carson Palmer of the Arizona Cardinals
Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Tom Brady of the New England Patriots
Best Buddies and the Ellie Fund
Morgan Fox of the Los Angeles Rams
Wounded Warrior Project
Blake Bortless of the Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Police and Fire departments
Jamal Charles of the Denver Broncos
Special Olympics
Amari Cooper of the Oakland Raiders
Read to Me
Paul Posluszny of the Jacksonville Jaguars
Pat Tillman Foundation
Brandon Shell and Jonotthan Harrison of the New York Jets
Stomp Out Bullying
Byron Jones of the Dallas Cowboys
CJD Foundation
Chris Long of the Philadelphia Eagles
The Waterboys
